Apprenticeship Engagement Coordinator

Location: Grimsby
Hours: Full‑Time
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £26,873 – £31,364 per annum (pro rata, dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the Role

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Apprenticeship Engagement Coordinator to join a growing Engagement Team supporting the continued success of pre‑apprenticeship and apprenticeship programmes.

This role is ideal for a relationship‑driven, target‑focused individual who is passionate about helping people progress into education and employment while building strong partnerships with employers.

You’ll play a key role in recruiting learners, engaging employers, and creating meaningful work experience and apprenticeship opportunities, helping bridge the gap between education and the world of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage employers to develop apprenticeship vacancies and pre‑apprenticeship work experience placements
  • Recruit employed and unemployed learners onto apprenticeship and pre‑apprenticeship programmes
  • Support employers with vacancy advertising and use of the Apprenticeship Service
  • Ensure employer funding is reserved correctly on the Apprenticeship Service
  • Assess employer environments for health & safety, safeguarding and compliance
  • Carry out learner initial assessments and provide effective information, advice and guidance
  • Match learners to suitable vacancies and work experience placements within required timeframes
  • Maintain accurate learner and employer records and produce reports to support programme evaluation
  • Support marketing activity and attend recruitment events (daytime and evening)
  • Liaise with external partners to support learner engagement, achievement and progression
  • Deliver excellent customer service when handling external enquiries
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of apprenticeship funding and compliance requirements

Key Objectives

  • Recruit target numbers of learners to maximise contract and funding opportunities
  • Generate sufficient employer placements and apprenticeship vacancies
  • Support learner starts, retention, achievement and progression targets

Person SpecificationQualifications

  • Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience in sales, recruitment or engagement (B2B or customer‑facing preferred)
  • Strong relationship‑building and employer engagement skills
  • Experience working to targets and KPIs
  • Excellent organisation, time‑management and prioritisation skills
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage a varied workload

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential
  • Willingness to attend events outside normal office hours when required
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding and quality standards
